Rare Thomas Elsley Cast Iron Fireplace – Jeckyll Style
This is a rare original antique cast iron fireplace by Thomas Elsley, with strong Aesthetic Movement detail in the style associated with Thomas Jeckyll.
The fireplace has tall, narrow proportions, a shallow hood and sharply cast natural motifs, giving it a distinctive late 19th-century appearance. It is an unusual statement piece for a period interior, particularly where a fireplace needs architectural character without requiring a large surround.
Restored in our Dorset workshop, the fireplace is supplied complete with its grate, fire bars, clay fireback and ashpan cover.
