Thomas Jeckyll Style Victorian Cast Iron Combination Fireplace
This is a striking Victorian style all-in-one cast iron combination fireplace in the manner of Thomas Jeckyll, with richly detailed Aesthetic Movement decoration.
The upper panel is particularly attractive, with deeply cast flowers and foliage incorporating a bird and butterfly, while the arched opening is framed by geometric detailing and a series of decorative circular rosettes. Further small floral motifs decorate the sides, giving the fireplace an unusually elaborate and distinctive appearance.
The fireplace has strong proportions without being excessively large and would make an impressive feature in either a bedroom or lounge. As an all-in-one combination fireplace, the mantel, surround and insert form a single cast iron unit.
